The College of Education at TCU offers different critical thinking courses of which this one is Creativity and Play. I teach the management and activity challenges for classroom teachers who are interested in the physical activity needs of children. The lab is two hours: the first hour is talking through why physical activity is needed in the schools and what the role of the teacher should be. The second hour is in the gym with the college aged students going through different activities from K-6 and how they look developmentally different from one age to the next. So for example, we would work with scoops and balls. I would have them go through the activity as a Kindergartner and then a first grader and so on. I would adapt the activity to fit the developmental needs to the child.

- 08-28-2013 - Importance of Ethics Curriculum in the Schools Presentation at Kinderplatz of Fine Arts - Fort Worth, TX
This presentation went into detail about differences between ethics and religion. Why ethics or character development should be considered as a curriculum in the schools and not just a philosophy. This presentation targeted teachers of pre-K age and why Kinderplatz should continue to do what they do. This is a great school which prepares children for a great future of learning when the students are ready to take on more information. I loved that I was able to discuss the topic of ethics and how it fit in a pre-K environment.
